30 AGAIN?!?!

The 19th was my 31st birthday, although since I got to be thirty twice in a row I figure why not again! That's a story for another time though. I had a wonderful birthday with extra special thanks going to Madison for the fantastic "wacky tacky" party she threw me. Like mother like daughter I guess! She put lots of work in planning the "surprise" for at least 2 weeks. She had all 3 kids dress up in clothes from the goodwill bag because they were "tacky". She had decorated her own bedroom with signs saying Happy Anniversary, Happy 2nd Birthday, Congratulations on retirement, etc.. When they told me to come tuck them into bed an hour early I had absolutely no suspisions. I walked into her dark room and got a big "Surprise!!" We then played a "tacky sword fight" game where Maddy had made bent swords out of popsicle sticks. Some were straighter than others so to dertermine who got which sword we played to left and right game. Madison stood with her back to the rest of us who stood in a circle. As she told us a story she used the words right and left which were supposed to tell us which way to pass the swords. The best part about it was that everytime she said right she also said left which left us keeping our original sword until the end. I accidently broke my sword in the beginning but Kaden and Silas duked it out for at least 5 minutes. In the end Kaden triumphed. I think he still has that bent up sword and there's no telling if and when it will find its way to the trash.

After the sword fight the kids each gave me a gift. Kaden and Kalia both made me dream catchers out of foam shapes and yarn. Madison wrote me a book about why her mom is so great. I think I may have it published so that I can send a copy to everyone I know just so they can remember that I'm wonderful! Silas and the kids then gave me 2 games for the wii, the guitar hero (that Silas has taken over) and the surgery game which is pretty fun to play even if I butcher everyone that I cut into. I guess my hands shake alot. We ended the night with a yummy chocolate cake and then got all the kids in bed. I so love all the work that Madison and the other kids put into making it a fun birthday. I had been having a really rough day because of a bad migraine but still had lots of fun. I wonder how many times I can turn thirty? What do you think Dad?
